How to safely pick up individual sheets of corrugated steel coil?

I work for a factory that produces corrugated sheet steel from rolled coils. The sheets are only a few millimetres thick, and when they’re stacked it can be very difficult to pick up an individual sheet while wearing gloves. We could use a screwdriver or some other tool to get between them, but that would ruin the finish on the sheets.

Short of getting an automated fanner or something, are you aware of a hand tool that could be used to get between sheets without scratching them?

Thanks so much for any help you can offer!
