Contact Tip - Welding

Hello All,

My company has recently come into issues with operators not using the correct contact tips on some of our processes. Particularly in an area where two different diameters of tips are being utilized.

In order to prevent the incorrect contact tip to be installed on the wrong machine I have been tasked with finding a solution that will prevent the operator from grabbing the larger ID contact tip and putting it on machines with smaller OD wire.

It has already been mentioned that the tips are received with a laser etching detailing the ID for the tips. The solution of ‘teaching the operator how to read numbers’ is apparently a solution management doesn’t want to hear.

I was wondering if there might be a cost effective solution out there to solve this issue?
